Matrix Packing Support Plate:
Matrix Packing Support Plate is particularly useful in many refinery services where random or other structured packing will coke or foul, potentially causing premature shutdowns. The all-welded construction provides a strong assembly that can withstand the rigorous conditions often found in both refinery and petrochemical services.
It is constructed in modules. The vertical blades of the packing are fixed in position with welded cross members. During installation of either style, each successive layer of the grid packing is rotated 45 degrees to the previous layer. This specific orientation eliminates horizontal planes where liquid and/or solids can collect. This packing has a greater projected area perpendicular to the gas flow causing higher localized vapor velocities, effectively providing higher efficiencies.
Applications
Liquid-liquid matrix coalescer packs are usually arranged vertically as shown above.
The pack consists of corrugated metal plates with a spacing and style to suit service conditions.
Pack surface areas are typically 125 and 250 m2 /m3 , standard pack depth is 200 mm.
Most packs are supplied in stainless steel, but they are also available in exotic alloys
The settling process can be enhanced considerably by passing the dispersion through a suitable coalescer pack.

1:According to the tower equipment diagram,and make sure that packing installation heights is correct.
2:When installing, it should always be poured from a certain height away from the packing layer. People should not stand directly on the packing to prevent the packing from deformation and uneven density. Wooden boards can be laid on the packing to disperse the force.
3:Other sundries, packaging bags, etc. is forbidden during the installation
4:Generally filled by random packing
5:After finished, if there is unevenness, use a wooden strip to naturally push it flat
