Metal Raschig Ring

Friedrich rasig invented these rings in the 1880s, but they were not patented until the 1910s. Because of a simple cylindrical tube with an aspect ratio of 1:1, the liquid will move through thousands of channels formed by rings, covering the inner and outer surfaces and eventually flowing to the bottom.
