1:The air flow in the adjacent packing units is slowly change the its direction.
2:Air flow under the connection position between adjacent packing unit's movment is very similar to tower axis direction, air speed will reduce 25% with compared to airflow of tower packing inside.

The above two points reduce the pressure drop and shear force, and overcome the flooding phenomenon at the joint of the packing.

This packing can handle a much wider range of vapor and liquid rates, as well as process services. Process applications range from low-pressure drop vacuum and atmospheric distillation services to medium high-pressure absorbers. Sheet metal packing can even handle a modest amount of fouling with adequate liquid loading to keep the packing wetted.
